Victor Creel’s house from “Stranger Things” is for sale in Georgia

by Verus Real Estate

Fans of Netflix’s sci-fi show, Stranger Things, would immediately recognize this house. The 19th-century mansion, best known as the Creel House, made a debut in the fourth season of the highly acclaimed tv series. Ten days ago, it hit the market for $1.5 million.

This Victorian mansion had to undergo an extensive makeover before it appeared in the show. The creators of Stranger Things tell us that Victor Creel, his wife Virginia, and their two children, Alice and Henry, moved into this house in 1959. After a while, the house became abandoned. The Creel House looks spooky and uninviting in the series, but not in real life. Over the past two years, this home has been carefully restored to its original glory.

“Seeing the home transformed not once, but twice throughout the course of filming was exciting for our town,” the property’s listing agent, Jeb Arp of Toles, told Mansion Global. “Not only will the next owners be buying a piece of history, but a piece of pop culture as well.”

The Gothic mansion kept many historic details, including Queen Anne-style furniture, massive vintage chandeliers, handcrafted built-in bookshelves, and a custom buffet. The cottage has 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and an unfinished attic, which was used as Vecna’s lair. The attic could be transformed into an additional bedroom or a home office.

The sale also includes a guest house, which is located behind the main house. It has 3 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a renovated bathroom. Prior to making a cameo in Stranger Things, this mansion has served as a bed and breakfast. A future owner could turn this home into a profitable Stranger Things-themed Airbnb rental or use it as their main residence.

Creel House is the second home from Stranger Things listed for sale. Last month, the Byers family home sold for double its asking price. Currently, Victor Creel’s mansion is accepting offers from potential buyers. The offers will be reviewed on November 30, 2022.
